When Sé began in 2007, our guiding principle was to create furniture design of allure, imagination and distinction, finished with fine materials and the highest quality production values.

Sé’s debut collection, created by the celebrated French designer Damien Langlois-Meurinne, captured the tone perfectly. Glamorous, lyrical, strong and sculptural – and with a tantalising echo of the furniture of the 1920s and 30s – it chimed perfectly with Sé’s aesthetic mandate.

Known for his celebrated body of work, most notably with his own Paris-based company Agence DLM, Langlois-Meurinne has an acclaimed reputation as an interior designer as well as a maker of design pieces, producing his own lines of furniture and lighting. For Sé, Langlois-Meurinne created a startling collection of objects - including the Ooh La La console table and the Happiness Armchair – that display a design sensibility at once opulent and innovative. Along with Sé, he likes to use materials like lacquer, bronze and woods such as frake, walnut and sycamore - and enjoys working closely with highly experienced craftspeople. His work has a communicative quality, as you’d expect from a designer who wants to ‘give objects a soul’ and a sense of personality. As Langlois-Meurinne says: “A successful design is one that is endowed with a touch of poetry, freedom and fantasy.”
